IFK Mexico Seminar with Shihan German Carballo - October 16–18, 2026
/The event took place at CESSA Universidad, a prestigious private university located in the heart of Mexico City.
The main objective of the seminar was to review, reinforce, and standardize the IFK technical syllabus, building upon the work that Shihan Carballo and I have been carrying out through weekly online training sessions over the past nine months.
We were pleased to welcome 70 participants, including children, teenagers, and adults, with seven black belts also taking part in the seminar.
The seminar was organized as follows:
Friday, October 16
- Advanced training session for participants ranging from green belt to 3rd Dan.
Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18
- Children's sessions (9:00–11:00 a.m.): Training focused on Kihon and Clicker techniques. Adult practitioners assisted Shihan Carballo and me in supervising the children, ensuring proper technique, understanding, and execution throughout the sessions.
- Teenagers and adults (9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.): Intensive training covering Kata, Kihon, and Renraku, with particular emphasis on technical accuracy and consistency with IFK standards.
- The final hour was dedicated to a judging seminar for participants ranging from green belt to black belt, reinforcing their understanding of competition rules and judging criteria.
I would particularly like to highlight Shihan Carballo's exceptional dedication, technical expertise, professionalism, and personal qualities throughout the seminar.
His guidance has been invaluable in helping us understand and refine the technical details and specific requirements of the IFK syllabus.
On a personal level, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the tremendous amount of time, patience, and effort he has invested in my development over the past nine months. His commitment to our weekly online training sessions, combined with the outstanding instruction he provided during this seminar, has been instrumental in strengthening my understanding of the IFK syllabus.
I sincerely believe that, without his continuous support and dedication, I would not have been able to achieve the same level of technical understanding and progress.
His contribution has been extremely valuable not only to me personally, but also to the continued technical development and growth of IFK Mexico.
As part of the event, we also had the opportunity to participate in an interview with a Mexican digital magazine specializing in martial arts, helping to promote our activities and increase the visibility of IFK Mexico.
Osu!
Respectfully,
Jesus Mateos
