3rd Annual American Vital Karate Open – March 28, 2026

The 3rd Annual American Vital Karate Open Championships will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Lima, Ohio. Hosted by American Vital Karate and presented by USA-IFK, the AVK Open continues to grow as a multi-division event welcoming competitors from across the Kyokushin and broader karate community.

Competition Divisions

The 2026 AVK Open will include the following divisions:

  • Full Contact Knockdown Kumite (IFK Rules)

  • Semi-Contact Kumite

  • Point Fighting

  • Kata

  • Weapons Kata

  • Jiu-Jitsu Divisions

Competitors may register for only one fighting division (Point Fighting, Semi-Contact, or Full Contact Kumite).

Registration Schedule & Pricing

Early Registration:

  • January 31 – February 14, 2026

  • $50 for one Karate event

  • $10 for each additional Karate event

Normal Registration:

  • February 14 – March 23, 2026

  • $55 for one Karate event

  • $10 for each additional Karate event

Late Registration:

  • March 23 – March 28, 2026

  • $60 for one Karate event

  • $10 for each additional Karate event

Jiu-Jitsu Registration:

  • $50 (Early)

  • $55 (Normal)

  • $60 (Late)

Spectator Pass:

  • $10 per spectator

Important: Semi-Contact and Full Contact Knockdown Kumite registration ends March 23, 2026.
No late registrations will be accepted for these divisions.

Divisions may be combined as necessary to ensure safe and fair competition. If no safe competitor can be found, a refund will be issued for the affected fighting division.

Tournament Hotel Information

Wingate by Wyndham (next door to the event venue) has been designated as the tournament hotel.

  • Reservation Cut-Off Date: February 27, 2026

  • Check-In: Begins at 3:00 PM (early check-in not guaranteed)

  • Check-Out: 11:00 AM

  • Late checkout fees may apply after 12:00 PM

IFK India Intra-City Tournament 2026 - 10th May 2026


Event: IFK Intra-City Tournament 2026
Date: 10th May 2026
Venue: West Bengal, India
The tournament will feature both Kata and Kumite competitions, conducted in separate arenas to ensure smooth and efficient proceedings. Registration has already begun, and we are expecting participation from more than 200 competitors.


Additionally, this tournament will serve as an important organizational milestone, as we will be officially announcing two new Branch Chiefs during the event.

IFK Austria - Dan Test and Summer Camp 10-12 July 2026

Three days of Kyokushin — training, seminars, and one of the most important events of the year:
🔥 The IFK Black Belt Examination.

A special highlight of this event will be Jonas Rosin and Emanuel Lebo.

Although they’ve ended their competitive careers, they’ve decided to take on one final challenge — the IFK 3rd Dan Black Belt Test.

Both are World Champions, and kumite was always their strongest side.

They will face 50 consecutive fights, inviting strong fighters to make this one of the toughest kumite tests in Kyokushin history.

From K.O. Dojo, World Champion Aleksandar Alexiev and European Champion Lukas Prem will also take part in this examination —
Aleksandar will test for his 1st Dan Black Belt, and Lukas for his 2nd Dan.

The camp is open to all federations — daily training, seminars, and participation in the kumite part of the exam are open to everyone.

Limited spots: maximum 100 participants.

Sensei Wesley Jansen Confirmed as Guest Instructor for USA-IFK
Summer Camp 2026

The USA-IFK is pleased to welcome Sensei Wesley Jansen of International Federation of Karate Netherlands as Guest Instructor for the USA-IFK Summer Camp, to be held July 17–19, 2026, in Holley, New York.

Sensei Jansen is widely respected within the IFK for both his competitive accomplishments and his success as a coach at the national and international level. His background spans high-level performance in both kumite and kata, as well as long-term athlete development.

His participation in the 2026 USA-IFK Summer Camp provides a valuable opportunity for instructors and students to train with a coach actively shaping elite IFK competitors today.

3rd Austrian KO Cup - 7th November 2026

Host/Organiser: K.O.DOJO on behalf of the AKF & IFK Austria

  • This year we organize the Adults Men & Women in Open Weight categories with Prize Money. (We plan to alternate the Austrian K.O. Cup format in the future: every two years with weight categories - no prize money, and every two years as an Open Weight edition with prize money.)

IFK India - IFK Cup at Sajnaberia, India, on 22nd November 2026.

The All India Karate tournament titled “IFK Cup", will be held at Sajnaberia, India, on 22nd November 2026. 

Participants from all states where IFK has an existing presence will be invited to take part in the event. In addition, practitioners from other full-contact martial arts groups will also be invited to participate, making it a large and competitive gathering.

We are hopeful that this tournament will be a grand success and will further strengthen the spirit of Kyokushin and full-contact karate across the country.
